Atta Tarar Criticizes KP Government, Claims Governance Breakdown and Rising Corruption

Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has said that there is “no concept of governance” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alleging that corruption and mismanagement are at their peak in the province.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, he claimed that public funds are being spent on lavish expenditures and political activities instead of development and public welfare.

Atta Tarar said the provincial cabinet has been expanded and alleged that there is no merit-based criterion in the selection of ministers and advisers except what he termed “incompetence.” He questioned whether increasing the size of the cabinet would improve governance that, according to him, has remained ineffective for over 12 years.

He further stated that the situation in the province has never been worse and accused the provincial administration of failing to improve governance and service delivery.
