Ali Musa Gilani Challenges “Prisoner No. 804” to Electoral Contest, Says He Is Ready to Compete

Multan: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Ali Musa Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, has issued a direct political challenge to PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail and referred to by supporters as “Prisoner No. 804.”

In a strongly worded video statement, Ali Musa Gilani invited Imran Khan to face him in the electoral arena, asserting that he is not afraid of the former prime minister. He dismissed Imran Khan as being “overhyped,” stating that he is not the kind of political force he is often portrayed to be.

“We are political people, and we will control him through democratic means,” Gilani said. He further challenged that Imran Khan should be released from jail and allowed to contest elections against him directly, claiming he is ready to compete without fear.

He also criticized restrictions on mentioning Imran Khan’s name, arguing that politicians should not be turned into heroes by keeping them behind bars, but rather defeated through the ballot box. According to him, only the PPP has the capability to defeat Imran Khan’s political narrative through democratic strength.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister, is currently imprisoned in multiple legal cases and is reportedly disqualified from contesting elections due to legal and technical reasons. Ali Musa Gilani’s remarks are expected to further intensify political tensions between PPP and PTI supporters, with reactions already emerging from both sides—PTI supporters calling the statement attention-seeking, while PPP supporters describe it as a sign of political courage.
