OpenAI Introduces New ChatGPT Feature to Save Uploaded Files in Persistent Library

OpenAI has reportedly introduced a new feature in ChatGPT that significantly enhances user experience by allowing uploaded files to be stored permanently in a dedicated library.
According to details, files uploaded during conversations will no longer disappear after the chat ends. Instead, they will be saved in a separate storage system, enabling users to access and reuse them in future interactions.
The feature supports a wide range of file types, including spreadsheets, presentations, and other documents. ChatGPT will also be able to recall and reference these files based on user instructions in later conversations.
The new storage system includes tier-based capacity limits. Free users will receive up to 500 MB of storage, Go subscribers 4 GB, Plus and Business users 20 GB, and Pro users up to 100 GB.
The feature is expected to be available on both mobile applications and the web version. A new “Storage” option will be added in settings, along with a redesigned library menu for easier file access and management.
The update is part of OpenAI’s ongoing efforts to improve productivity tools and make ChatGPT more useful for long-term work and document handling.
