Karachi Likely to Remain Extremely Hot and Humid Today, PMD Warns

Karachi: The weather in Karachi is expected to remain extremely hot and humid today, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said the humidity level in the city currently stands at 69 percent, while the maximum temperature is likely to reach 38 degrees Celsius. However, due to high humidity, the heat intensity may feel between 43 and 46 degrees Celsius.

According to the PMD, the current temperature in Karachi is 29 degrees Celsius, with western winds blowing at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, most parts of the country are expected to experience hot weather, while southern and central regions may remain extremely hot. Partly cloudy conditions are likely in upper mountainous areas.

The Meteorological Department also forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan during the evening or night hours.

The PMD added that yesterday the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Sibi at 46 degrees Celsius, followed by Dadu at 45 degrees Celsius.
