Former RAW Chief Says India’s Efforts to Isolate Pakistan Are Backfiring

Former chief of India’s intelligence agency RAW, A.S. Dulat, has said that India’s long-standing efforts to diplomatically isolate Pakistan are no longer effective and may instead be leaving India isolated on the global stage.

In an interview with a British media outlet, Dulat stated that the narrative of pushing Pakistan into international isolation has become outdated. He remarked that Pakistan “will never break apart” and highlighted Islamabad’s growing diplomatic role in the region, including reported efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States.

Dulat said such a diplomatic role should ideally have been played by India. He also stressed that the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through dialogue and emphasized that talks between Pakistan and India should never stop.

His remarks come days after RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said that India should always remain open to negotiations with Pakistan and should not completely shut the doors to dialogue.

Earlier, former Indian Army Chief General Manoj Naravane also stated that ordinary people on both sides face similar challenges and have little to do with political tensions.

The recent statements by senior Indian figures have sparked renewed discussion about the future of relations between the two neighboring countries.
