MQM-P Lawmaker Moves Adjournment Motion Over Rising Street Crime in Karachi

Karachi: A member of the Sindh Assembly from Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has submitted an adjournment motion in the provincial assembly over the alarming rise in street crime in the city.

Lawmaker Muhammad Amir Siddiqui highlighted the worsening law and order situation in Karachi, stating that incidents of mobile, motorcycle, and vehicle snatching have increased sharply, leaving citizens in a state of insecurity.

According to data presented in the motion, 1,265 mobile snatching incidents were reported in March 2026, while the number rose to 1,624 in April 2026. The motion also noted a continuous increase in motorcycle and car theft cases, contributing to growing public fear.

Muhammad Amir Siddiqui urged the assembly to take immediate notice of the situation and called for strict action against street criminals.

He further appealed for enhanced police patrolling and effective measures to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property in Karachi.
