Severe Heatwave in Karachi as Load Shedding Exceeds 14 Hours in Several Areas

Karachi: A severe heatwave continues to grip Karachi, where prolonged power outages have further worsened conditions for residents, with both scheduled and unscheduled load shedding reported across the city.
According to reports, the duration of announced load shedding in several areas has exceeded 14 hours, while additional unannounced outages are also being experienced, intensifying public hardship amid extreme weather.
A wide range of neighborhoods including Garden, Lyari, North Karachi, New Karachi, Malir, Korangi, Orangi Town, Manghopir, Surjani Town, Sohrab Goth, and Baldia Town are facing extended electricity disruptions lasting for several hours at a time.
Residents have also reported that even areas traditionally exempt from load shedding are not spared, as power cuts continue across multiple localities in the city during the ongoing heatwave.
