Balochistan High Court Suspends Tender Proceedings for Demolition of Assembly Building

Quetta: The Balochistan High Court has suspended proceedings related to the tender for the demolition of the Balochistan Assembly building while hearing a constitutional petition filed against the proposed move.
The case was heard on Monday by a divisional bench comprising Chief Justice Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mulakhail and Justice Muhammad along with Additional Advocate General Najamuddin Mengal.
The constitutional petition was filed by advocate Amanullah Kanrani, challenging the planned demolition of the assembly building.
Representing the government, Advocate General Adnan Basharat and Additional Advocate General Sheikh Baloch requested more time from the court to submit replies on behalf of the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
The high court accepted the government’s request for adjournment and extended the stay order that had earlier been issued on May 4. The court also ordered that all proceedings related to the demolition tender would remain suspended until the next hearing.
The case has been adjourned for an indefinite period.
