Firefighting Efforts Continue After 22 Hours at Mastung Customs Warehouse Blaze

Firefighters are continuing efforts to control a massive blaze at a customs warehouse near Lakpass in Mastung District more than 22 hours after the fire first erupted.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Mastung, the fire broke out at around 10 a.m. on the previous day and remains partially uncontrolled despite ongoing operations involving more than 10 fire brigade vehicles.
Officials said the warehouse contained LPG cylinders, fuel, chemicals, dry fruits, clothing, and tires, which intensified the fire and triggered multiple explosions involving LPG tankers and gas cylinders.
Authorities confirmed that 35 people suffered burn injuries in the incident and are receiving medical treatment at hospitals.
The fire also destroyed more than 100 vehicles parked near the warehouse. However, after the intensity of the blaze decreased overnight, traffic on the Quetta–Karachi Highway was restored.
