Noor Zaman Wins Thriller in World Squash Championship Opener

Cairo: Pakistan’s rising squash player Noor Zaman made a strong start in the World Squash Championship by defeating Egypt’s Adam Hawal in a closely contested first-round match.

Competing in Egypt, Noor Zaman overcame the home favorite 3–2 in a five-game thriller. The final scoreline read 11–9, 5–11, 11–7, 9–11, 11–8 in favor of the Pakistani player.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Asim Khan was eliminated in the first round after losing to fifth seed Joel Makin.

Pakistan’s third participant, Ashab Irfan, is scheduled to play his opening match today in the tournament.

The victory marks a positive start for Pakistan in the championship, with Noor Zaman advancing to the next round after a hard-fought encounter.
