Petrol Prices Likely to Increase Again in Pakistan

Islamabad (Khabar Desk) — Petroleum product prices are once again expected to rise across the country, raising concerns among the public over another possible increase in fuel costs.
According to sources, the price of petrol is likely to go up by approximately Rs 4.75 per litre, while only minor adjustments are expected in the price of high-speed diesel.
Reports suggest that the increase is linked to rising prices in the international market, where the Free on Board (FOB) price of petrol has climbed from $139.03 per barrel to $143.01 per barrel. The upward trend in global oil prices is expected to put additional pressure on domestic fuel rates in Pakistan.
The government is expected to announce the final revised prices after reviewing factors including taxes, petroleum levy, and the exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee.
Economic experts warn that if international fuel prices continue to rise, transportation costs, food prices, and other everyday commodities may also become more expensive in the coming days.
