Five Robbers Killed in Police Encounter in Karachi’s New Karachi Industrial Area
Five suspected robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter in the New Karachi Industrial Area of Karachi, officials confirmed.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central, police attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle when the occupants opened fire. In the ensuing exchange of fire, five alleged criminals were killed on the spot.
Police recovered pistols, a Kalashnikov rifle, mobile phones, and other items from the suspects. Officials said the group was involved in multiple criminal activities, and CCTV footage of their alleged crimes is also available.
Authorities added that one bullet struck the SHO’s bulletproof jacket during the encounter, but all police personnel remained unharmed.
Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar praised the operation, calling the elimination of the five suspects commendable. He said the DIG West, SSP Central, and the police team demonstrated bravery and professionalism.
He further stated that operations against criminal elements will continue and that ensuring public safety remains the top priority of the Sindh Police.
