Sindh CM Directs All Upgraded Schools to Become Operational from April 2, 2027

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed that all upgraded schools across the province be made fully operational from April 2, 2027.
A meeting of the School Education Department was held under the chairmanship of the chief minister, where the provision of teachers, students and essential educational facilities at upgraded schools was reviewed.
The chief minister directed that schools completed by March 2027 must be fully prepared by April 2, including the provision of furniture and teachers. He said the objective was not merely to construct schools but also to ensure children’s enrollment and quality education.
Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the launch of a comprehensive enrollment campaign to bring out-of-school children back into education, with special attention to girls’ education and children who had dropped out of school.
The meeting was informed that 1,133 schools across the province are included under the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project (SSEIP) and SELECT Programme. Of these, 838 schools are part of SSEIP, while 295 schools are covered under the SELECT Programme.
During a nine-day pilot enrollment campaign held from September 21 to 30 at five newly upgraded secondary schools in Thatta, 702 students were enrolled in grades six to ten, including 409 girls. In addition, 102 out-of-school and dropout children were re-enrolled.
The Sindh chief minister appreciated the results of the pilot campaign and directed authorities to adopt the model across the province.
