Khawaja Saad Rafique Denies Ownership or Investment in One Constitution Avenue Project, Warns of Legal Action

Lahore: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has strongly rejected social media claims alleging his ownership of apartments or investment in Islamabad’s One Constitution Avenue project.
In a detailed clarification, he stated that neither he nor any member of his family holds any apartment or has made any investment in the project. He warned that if false propaganda against him continues on social media, legal action will be initiated against those responsible.
Saad Rafique recalled that he had already issued a clarification on April 9 via a post on X in response to a journalist’s tweet, denying any involvement in the project.
He further added that, based on his assessment of the matter, the government should take all legal measures to recover losses suffered by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), along with applicable compensation.
He emphasized that the rights of verified apartment owners who have fully paid for their units must be protected in accordance with law and justice.
The former minister also called for action against regulators and facilitators who allegedly failed to stop construction and sales despite non-payment of land dues to the CDA.
Saad Rafique expressed confidence that the government would ensure justice for all parties and hold those responsible accountable under the law.
Reiterating his stance, he said that if any social media account continues to spread false allegations after this clarification, he reserves the right to pursue legal proceedings against them.
