PM Shehbaz Sharif Allows Fans to Attend PSL Final Amid Cost-Cutting Drive

Islamabad — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the return of spectators to the stadium for the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, allowing fans to attend the high-profile event.
According to a statement shared on social media by Pakistan Cricket Board (Pakistan Cricket Board) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, he had requested the prime minister to permit public attendance at the final. Naqvi said the prime minister agreed, emphasizing that fans should be able to experience the match live.
He added that franchise owners had also supported the request, and thanked the prime minister for approving the decision.
Naqvi further noted that while the government has launched a nationwide austerity drive, the decision to allow spectators reflects a balance between public engagement and economic caution.
The announcement comes as Pakistan continues to manage economic pressures linked to global energy price volatility and broader regional tensions, including the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
