Restoration of True Democracy Key to Resolving Crises, Say Asghar Khan Achakzai and Mohsin Dawar

Quetta: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai and National Democratic Movement (NDM) chairman Mohsin Dawar have agreed that the only way to overcome ongoing national crises is through the restoration of genuine democracy and full implementation of the Constitution.
The consensus emerged during a meeting held at Khan House in Quetta, where Mohsin Dawar led a delegation to meet the ANP leader. Discussions focused on the overall political situation in the country, as well as longstanding economic and national issues faced by Pashtun and بلوچ communities in the region.
Both leaders expressed serious concern over rising extremism, terrorism, and the displacement of local tribes from their ancestral lands, describing these issues as major contributors to a growing sense of alienation among affected populations.
They emphasized that ensuring constitutional supremacy and democratic governance is essential to addressing grievances and restoring public confidence. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national rights, promoting sustainable peace, and continuing political struggle to prevent undemocratic interventions.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders from both parties, including NDM Central General Secretary Muzammil Shah and ANP Provincial General Secretary Mabat Kaka. A reception was later hosted by Asghar Khan Achakzai in honor of the visiting delegation.
