Viral Video Misrepresented: No Forced Removal of Sindh Governor’s Cap, Says Railway Police

SUKKUR: Railway Police have dismissed as baseless the viral claim that the Sindh Governor’s traditional cap was forcibly removed at Rohri Railway Station, clarifying that the video circulating on social media has been taken out of context.
According to a spokesperson, the governor received a warm استقبال upon arrival at Rohri station, where he was presented with an ajrak and a Sindhi cap as part of the استقبال ceremony. The statement emphasized that the impression created online — suggesting the cap was removed forcibly — is incorrect.
The spokesperson explained that the cap was taken off by the governor’s secretary with his permission, but the clip was edited or shared in a misleading way that distorted the actual sequence of events.
It is worth noting that Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori arrived in Sukkur by train a day earlier, where he attended an event at Shah Abdul Latif University to distribute laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said he chose a simple mode of travel on the Prime Minister’s instructions, adding that equipping young people with modern education and technology remains a top priority of the government.
