Armed Attack on Mining Company in Chagai, Balochistan Leaves 10 Dead Including Foreign Engineer

Quetta (Kudrat Daily) – An armed attack on a private mining company camp in the remote border area of Dreengon, located northwest of Dalbandin in Chagai district, Balochistan, has resulted in the deaths of 10 people, including a foreign engineer, while five others were injured.
According to reports, unidentified armed assailants stormed the camp of an NRL mining company engaged in copper and gold exploration in the area late last night. The attackers targeted security personnel and company staff before setting an oil storage facility on fire.
As a result of the violence, six people were reportedly burned to death, while four others were killed in gunfire during the assault. Among the deceased is a Turkish national, along with two local security personnel from Dalbandin. The remaining victims are said to be from different regions of the country.
Officials confirmed that two bodies and five injured persons have so far been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dalbandin.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation to trace the attackers. Authorities have confirmed the attack and stated that further details will be shared after security clearance and investigation.
The deadly assault in this sensitive border region has raised serious concerns over security arrangements and intelligence effectiveness regarding foreign experts and local workers engaged in strategic mining projects in Balochistan.
