Pakistan Awaits Iran’s Official Response on Islamabad Peace Talks Delegation Confirmation

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Pakistan is still awaiting Iran’s official response regarding the confirmation of the Islamabad peace talks delegation.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), he said Pakistan is continuously in contact with Iranian authorities in its role as a mediator. He added that Pakistan remains committed to diplomacy and the path of negotiations.
According to reports, the ceasefire between the United States and Iran is expected to end at 4:50 AM Pakistan Standard Time. The possible participation of Iran in talks before the expiry of the two-week ceasefire is being seen as a significant development.
Pakistan has made sincere efforts to persuade the Iranian leadership, and these efforts are ongoing, the statement added.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to the media, claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is under full control and described the blockade as a major achievement. He said there would be no extension to the ceasefire and warned that military options remain on the table if required.
Trump further stated that developments in Iran amount to a change in government structure, claiming that Iran’s military leadership has been significantly weakened. He also said he is prepared for renewed military operations if necessary, stressing that Iran must agree to a deal.
He added that Iran has suffered heavy losses, while defending U.S. actions during the recent escalation, and insisted that a comprehensive agreement is the only viable path forward.
The situation remains highly tense as diplomatic efforts continue amid rising regional uncertainty.
