Cooking Oil and Ghee Prices Surge Again, Adding to Inflation Burden

Islamabad: Despite fluctuations in petroleum prices, inflation in Pakistan continues to put pressure on consumers, with a fresh increase recorded in the prices of essential food items.
According to wholesale market sources, the price of premium quality ghee and cooking oil has risen by Rs30 per kilogram, pushing the rate from Rs560 to Rs590 per kg.
Similarly, second-grade cooking oil has become costlier by Rs35 per liter, increasing from Rs510 to Rs545 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of second-grade ghee has gone up by Rs25 per kg, reaching Rs535 from Rs510.
Traders say the continuous rise in prices is worsening financial difficulties for the public, as essential kitchen items become increasingly unaffordable.
