“If Sohail Afridi Does Not Lead the Long March, Bring a No-Confidence Motion”: Claim of Imran Khan’s Message

RAWALPINDI (Qudrat Daily) — Reports have surfaced of a message from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, imprisoned in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi, expressing severe anger over the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the Islamabad march issue, and conveying through his sister Noreen Niazi instructions regarding a change in the KP government and bringing a no-confidence motion.
According to sources cited by Naeem Ashraf Butt, during a meeting in Adiala Jail, Imran Khan, while conversing with his sister Noreen Niazi, said regarding Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s attitude that Sohail Afridi has done nothing for me; I had already sent a message through my lawyer that he should step down from the chief ministership.

On this occasion, when Noreen Niazi informed the PTI founder that Sohail Afridi has announced an Islamabad long march on September 27, and also pointed out that there is a group of former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the provincial assembly whose approximately 35 MPAs are against Sohail Afridi, Imran Khan adopted a clear and extremely strict stance.
Sources claim that Imran Khan directed that if Sohail Afridi does not set out with the Islamabad march on September 27, then a no-confidence motion should be brought against him immediately, and the same message should be conveyed to Ali Amin that in case the march does not take place, a no-confidence motion should be brought against Sohail Afridi.

It has been stated with reference to sources that as soon as this message from Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi reached Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, he, seeing the delicacy of the situation, made an immediate and sudden change in the march and protest programme, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is in continuous contact with an important federal minister of the federal government amid this entire situation, and regular discussions are ongoing between them to adopt a joint strategy.
