Prolonged Power Outages Disrupt Business and Education Across Pakistan

Widespread power outages across major cities in Pakistan are severely affecting businesses and educational activities, as load shedding hours continue to rise.

In Karachi, scheduled outages have exceeded 12 hours in several areas, while even previously exempt localities are now facing multiple hours of electricity cuts.

Meanwhile, Peshawar is experiencing up to 16 hours of load shedding, significantly disrupting daily life. In Quetta, residents are facing 4 to 6 hours of outages, while other districts in Balochistan are seeing routine power cuts ranging from 8 to 10 hours.

According to sources from Lahore Electric Supply Company, there is no unannounced load shedding in Lahore, where the power shortfall has been limited to around 100 megawatts.

However, rural areas and smaller towns across Punjab are still facing 2 to 3 hours of electricity outages, adding to the challenges for residents and local businesses.
