14 Killed, Including Lady Constable and Children, in Wave of Violence, Accidents and Explosion Across Balochistan in a Single Day

Quetta: At least 14 people, including a lady constable and several children, lost their lives while more than a dozen others were injured in multiple incidents of firing, traffic accidents, explosions, and drowning reported from various areas of Balochistan, including Khuzdar, Pishin, Dera Bugti, Kachhi, Nasirabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Duki, and other regions.
In Khuzdar’s Khandozai area, armed assailants opened fire on a police party pursuing robbery suspects, killing a lady constable and another police officer, while two others sustained serious injuries. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the fleeing suspects.
In Pishin, unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire near the WAPDA office on a vehicle, killing two people on the spot before escaping from the scene.
In Duki, a mechanic identified as Muhammad Adnan Mastoi from Dera Ghazi Khan was shot dead inside a shop in the Sardar Qaiser Tareen area. In another incident in Sohbatpur’s Adilpur police station jurisdiction, a man named Shehzada Gajani was killed in firing by unknown armed men allegedly wearing police uniforms, according to family claims.
Separately, two more people, including a woman, were killed in incidents of violence in Nasirabad and Dera Murad Jamali. In Goth Syed Akhtar Shah, a man allegedly killed his 23-year-old wife in a so-called honor-related shooting before fleeing. In another incident in Goth Jan Muhammad Jamali, a man named Ahmed Jaghirani was killed over a dispute, while police arrested one suspect.
In a major road accident on the N-65 highway at Kachhi’s Dhadar Bypass, a high-speed collision between a mazda truck and a pickup vehicle also struck a passing motorcycle, killing three people, including a 9-year-old boy Muhammad Usman, his father Himmat Khan, and Abdul Majeed. Two others were injured and shifted to hospital.
In Dera Bugti’s Sui area, a powerful explosion occurred when a motorcycle struck a buried landmine in Lanjoo, killing Muhib Ali Chakarani Bugti on the spot.
In another incident, an Afghan worker named Mansoor Hotak died after receiving an electric shock in a coal mine in Duki, while a four-year-old girl drowned in a canal in the Tambu area of Manjho Shori police station jurisdiction.
Police have registered cases and initiated investigations into the incidents. Bodies of the deceased were handed over to families after completion of legal formalities.
