Trump Seeks Resolution Before Ceasefire Deadline as US-Iran Talks Continue

Islamabad: With only three days remaining before the ceasefire deadline between United States and Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly keen to resolve the conflict through negotiations.

According to reports, a high-level meeting chaired by President Trump was held in the White House Situation Room, where the latest developments in the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing talks with Iran were reviewed in detail.

U.S. media outlets reported that during the meeting, Trump also established contact with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir as well as Iranian officials.

White House officials indicated that significant progress in negotiations with Iran is expected in the coming days, while further discussions are anticipated to take place in Pakistan.

A senior U.S. official stated that President Trump is determined to achieve a resolution before the ceasefire expires. However, the official warned that if no progress is made, there remains a risk of renewed tensions and possible military action.

The meeting was attended by key members of the U.S. administration, including Vice President JD Vance, along with the secretaries of state and defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
