Prolonged Unannounced Power Outages Spark Anger in Khuzdar

Khuzdar :Unannounced and prolonged power outages in Khuzdar city and its surrounding areas have intensified, causing severe distress among residents. With the onset of hot weather, all-night electricity cuts have deprived citizens of rest and comfort.

According to details, electricity is being shut off daily at exactly 12:00 AM and is only restored after 10:00 AM the next morning. During these ten hours of outage, residents are forced to spend the night outdoors or in open courtyards, enduring extreme heat, humidity, and a surge in mosquitoes.

Locals report that children, elderly people, and women are the worst affected. The oppressive heat and mosquito infestation make it nearly impossible not only to sleep but even to sit comfortably.

Residents claim that since the new Executive Engineer (XEN) assumed charge in Khuzdar, the duration and frequency of unannounced load shedding have increased across all feeders. The situation is particularly critical on the City-1 feeder, where electricity is cut off daily from Chandni Chowk at midnight, leaving thousands of consumers to suffer.

The worsening power crisis has sparked widespread anger among citizens. Public circles have urged the government and district administration to take immediate action and put an end to load shedding, especially during the summer season.
