CM Balochistan Praises Joint Civil-Military Strategy, Highlights Youth-Focused Reforms

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has expressed pride in Pakistan’s leadership role on the global stage, emphasizing that a unified civil-military strategy is the foundation of national stability.
He shared these views during a meeting with participants of the 55th training course of the Pakistan Navy War College in Quetta.
The chief minister lauded the leadership of Pakistan’s prime minister and Syed Asim Munir for their professional and strategic efforts in ensuring peace, stability, and national security. He said effective coordination between civil and military leadership has led to significant successes in the fight against terrorism and strengthened Pakistan’s defense and strategic vision.
During the session, Bugti held a detailed discussion on Balochistan’s political, security, social, and economic landscape, highlighting the province’s key role in the region amid evolving geopolitical dynamics. He stressed that sustainable peace in Balochistan depends on continued harmony between civil and military institutions.
Addressing concerns about unrest, he rejected the notion that uneven development alone is responsible for violence, stating that certain elements are deliberately misleading youth to destabilize the state. He warned that anti-Pakistan actors based abroad are actively using social media to spread propaganda.
The chief minister said the state is fully aware of such activities and is countering them through a comprehensive strategy. He added that the provincial government has taken full ownership of the fight against terrorism and is strengthening institutional capacity.
Bugti announced that Rs40 billion is being allocated to enhance the capacity of Balochistan Police, while an additional Rs10 billion will be provided to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to ensure long-term peace and stability.
Highlighting the importance of youth, he described them as the country’s most valuable asset and emphasized their inclusion in the national mainstream. He noted that a comprehensive youth policy has been introduced for the first time in the province, aimed at empowering young people, creating opportunities, and involving them in the development process.
He assured that grievances of youth will be addressed through dialogue, transparency, and merit-based policies, but made it clear that no leniency would be shown toward those who take up arms against the state.
Reaffirming his commitment, Bugti said the government will continue to pursue effective strategies, meritocracy, and engagement with youth to ensure a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Balochistan.
