Three Workers Die During Sewer Cleaning in Lyari

Karachi: Three men lost their lives after descending into a sewer for cleaning work near Masjid Aqsa in Lyari’s Sector 36.

According to reports, the incident occurred when three workers entered the sewer and fell unconscious, allegedly due to toxic gases. In an attempt to rescue them, a fourth individual also went down but managed to survive.

All four were later pulled out of the sewer, and the three unconscious workers were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. However, they could not survive and were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The incident highlights ongoing safety concerns and the lack of proper protective measures for sanitation workers.
