Police Officer Martyred in Gun Battle with Suspects in Karachi
Karachi: A police officer was martyred and another injured during a fierce exchange of fire between police and armed suspects near the Manghopir area of Karachi, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to police, motorcycle-riding robbers suddenly opened fire, prompting an immediate retaliatory response from law enforcement. During the intense gunfight, Constable Khadim embraced martyrdom, while another officer, Tufail, sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The suspects managed to flee the scene following the encounter. Police have since cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend those involved. Evidence is being collected from the site, and multiple teams have been formed to track down the attackers.
Authorities stated that CCTV footage and other intelligence sources are being utilized to identify and arrest the fleeing suspects, expressing hope for a breakthrough soon.
