Tribal Jirga Resolves Longstanding Feud in Pishin, Families Reconcile

Pishin: A long-running blood feud between the families of former MPA Syed Liaqat Agha and the late Syed Abdul Rab Agha has been successfully resolved, turning years of hostility into reconciliation through a tribal jirga.

The breakthrough came under the leadership of Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai, convener of the Pashtun Qaumi Jirga, who led a delegation to Killi Karbala in Pishin as part of a traditional nanawati (seeking forgiveness) process at the residence of the late Abdul Rab Agha.

The jirga included prominent political and tribal figures such as Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, along with several tribal elders, religious scholars, and community leaders. Their collective efforts led to a peaceful settlement between the two families.

The feud, which had claimed three lives and left several others injured over the years, was formally ended as both sides embraced each other and pledged to live in harmony and brotherhood.

Speaking on the occasion, Nawab Ayaz Jogezai emphasized the importance of the jirga system in Pashtun society, describing it as an effective traditional mechanism for resolving disputes and promoting peace, tolerance, and unity.

He stated that prolonged enmities only bring destruction, while reconciliation strengthens communities and sets a positive example for future generations.

Local elders and residents welcomed the development, calling it a significant step toward lasting peace and stability in the region. They noted that such reconciliations play a crucial role in fostering social harmony and reducing long-standing conflicts.
