Uproar Over Fiza Ali Video Intensifies; Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari Reacts Strongly

Islamabad: The controversy surrounding a recent video involving TV host Fiza Ali has intensified, drawing a strong reaction from Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, who criticized the incident and questioned media ethics.
Speaking about the matter, Uzma Bukhari said that Fiza Ali has a “long-standing habit of going to any extent for ratings” and is continuing that approach. She described the incident as deeply unfortunate and stated that the matter would likely be reviewed by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
The minister raised concerns over what she termed a lack of ethical boundaries, questioning the responsibility of content being broadcast, especially when children are involved in such situations.
Referring to the broadcast, Bukhari claimed that the segment involving Fiza Ali was aired deliberately and could have been stopped, adding that the pursuit of ratings is pushing media content beyond acceptable limits.
She further stated that the incident reflects a broader trend where media outlets prioritize viewership over responsibility. While expressing personal distress over the situation, she reiterated that such actions should not be normalized in public broadcasting.
The controversy continues to generate debate over media ethics, content regulation, and responsibility in live television programming in Pakistan.
