ECP Announces Delimitation Schedule for Punjab Local Government Elections

Lahore: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for delimitations ahead of the upcoming local government elections in Punjab.
According to details, the ECP has directed authorities to complete the delimitation process under the Punjab Local Government Act. The exercise for demarcating Union Councils across the province is expected to be completed by August 10.
The commission stated that the initial administrative steps for delimitations will be finalized by April 16. The preliminary list of delimitations will be published between April 20 and 21.
As per the schedule, the list of delimitations open for objections will be issued on May 25, while the public will be allowed to file objections from May 26 to June 23.
All objections raised by citizens will be addressed by July 22, and delimitation committees will be informed of the necessary actions by August 4.
The ECP further confirmed that the final list of Union Councils in Punjab will be released by August 10, paving the way for the next phase of local government elections.
