Trump’s Possible Visit to Islamabad Reported Amid Claims of Iran–US Talks Breakthrough

Amid growing diplomatic speculation in Pakistan and international circles, reports have emerged suggesting a possible visit by US President Donald Trump, linked to ongoing Iran–US negotiations.
Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute Mushahid Hussain Syed and former Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry have expressed strong optimism that the second round of Iran–US talks could succeed.
Speaking on a private television talk show, Mushahid Hussain Syed claimed that in the event of a successful agreement, Trump would personally travel to Islamabad for the signing ceremony rather than delegating the task to Vice President JD Vance. He further suggested that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian could also visit Pakistan, describing such developments as potentially turning Islamabad into a hub for global diplomacy.
The reports gained further attention after Trump, in remarks to a reporter from New York Post, indicated that the United States was “more inclined” toward holding talks in Pakistan. He also praised the performance of Pakistan’s military leadership, referring to Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir as “doing an excellent job.”
Following these statements, the next 48 hours are being described in political and diplomatic circles as highly significant for regional developments.
