CNN Reports JD Vance Likely to Lead Second Round of Iran Talks as US Prepares Delegation

US Vice President JD Vance is expected to lead the American delegation in a second round of negotiations with Iran, according to a report by CNN.

The report suggests that if another meeting is scheduled before the end of the current ceasefire, Vance could again head the US team. The delegation is also expected to include US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Earlier, Trump had indicated that talks with Iran could resume within the next two days.

According to US media reports, key unresolved issues include a timeline for suspending uranium enrichment activities. Washington is also reportedly seeking the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear enrichment-related facilities and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to full maritime traffic.
