Trump Says Iran War Nearing End, Reaffirms Opposition to Nuclear Weapons

US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing conflict with Iran is close to ending, expressing optimism about a potential agreement.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that Iran is eager to reach a deal and suggested that both sides see the conflict nearing its conclusion. Responding to a question about a ceasefire, he said the situation is moving toward a resolution in the near future.

Trump reiterated that the United States would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, adding that without US intervention, Iran could have already become a nuclear power—something he warned would disrupt the global balance.

Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance, speaking at the University of Georgia, emphasized that the administration is seeking a comprehensive agreement with Iran rather than a limited deal. He said the goal is to reach an arrangement that benefits both the United States and the wider international community, while enabling the Iranian people to become part of the global economy.

Vance added that if Iran normalizes its conduct, the US would be willing to treat it as a normal economic partner.
