Ex-Indian General Acknowledges Pakistan’s Diplomatic Role in US-Iran Mediation

A former Indian military officer has acknowledged Pakistan’s effective foreign policy and its role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran.

Retired Major General Yashpal Mor said that Pakistan’s mediation efforts were significantly shaped by the leadership and capabilities of Asim Munir.

He noted that Pakistan maintained a balanced and neutral stance during recent regional tensions, which helped it gain the trust of all parties involved. According to Mor, Islamabad’s diplomatic positioning enabled it to play a constructive role in bringing both sides closer for talks.

The former general also pointed out that Pakistan strongly condemned attacks on Iran, including remarks regarding the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, and raised its voice at the United Nations against Israeli actions in Lebanon.

His remarks reflect a rare acknowledgment from across the border of Pakistan’s growing role in regional diplomacy and conflict resolution.
