Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Forecast for Northern and Upper Balochistan on April 17–18

Quetta: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the upper and northern districts of Balochistan on April 17 and 18, warning of potential hazards including lightning strikes and structural damage.

According to the weather advisory, a strong western weather system is moving into the northwestern parts of the country, affecting several areas including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Nushki, Sherani, Musakhel, Loralai, Harnai, Zhob, and Barkhan.

Authorities have warned that thunderstorms may trigger lightning strikes, while strong winds could damage weak structures such as electric poles, solar panels, and billboards.

All concerned departments have been placed on high alert to deal with any emergency situation. Citizens, especially travelers and tourists, have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the adverse weather and to take precautionary measures for safety.
