US Warships Face-Off With Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Strait of Hormuz; Video Sparks Uproar

Islamabad: Tensions have escalated in the Strait of Hormuz after reported close encounters between United States Navy vessels and Iran’s naval forces, with a widely circulated video triggering debate on social media.

According to Iranian claims, its forces issued a strong military warning that forced U.S. warships to alter their course. However, the United States stated that its naval vessels continued their mission and passed through the area without any obstruction.

Footage broadcast by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reportedly shows radio communications between Iranian naval units and U.S. ships, reflecting a tense maritime exchange.

The video depicts repeated warnings issued by Iranian forces in what appears to be a highly sensitive naval standoff environment. Iranian media claimed that a U.S. destroyer entering the region was instructed to change course immediately and return toward the Arabian Sea.

In the audio, an Iranian officer can be heard warning that the vessel must alter its route or risk being targeted, while the U.S. side responds that it is operating under international law and has no intention of provocation.

Iranian reports further claimed that similar warnings were issued to multiple vessels in the region, including in the Gulf of Oman, instructing ships to maintain a safe distance from Iranian naval forces or face potential action.

The incident has added to already heightened regional tensions, with both sides presenting conflicting accounts of the encounter.
