Pope Leo Reaffirms Peace Message Amid Remarks by Donald Trump

VATICAN CITY: Pope Leo XIV has reiterated his commitment to promoting peace, stating that he will not hesitate to speak in favor of reconciliation and conflict avoidance, even in response to criticism from Donald Trump.
Responding to recent comments, Pope Leo said he would not engage in controversy but would continue to deliver messages of peace. “I will not back down from expressing the message of peace,” he said, emphasizing that his remarks are not directed as personal attacks against anyone.
The Pope added that “blessed are those who make peace,” urging people to seek ways to build bridges of understanding and to avoid war whenever possible.
He further stressed that his statements are intended to promote harmony and are not meant to target individuals or political leaders.
The remarks come after Donald Trump reportedly criticized calls for a ceasefire, referring to the Pope in strong terms, which sparked widespread reactions in international circles.
Pope Leo reaffirmed that his focus remains on encouraging dialogue, reconciliation, and peaceful solutions to global conflicts.
