CM Balochistan Urges Youth to Counter Negative Propaganda at Gwadar Youth Summit

Gwadar: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the youth of the province are patriotic and must firmly counter negative propaganda on social media, emphasizing that the government is accountable to young people under the Constitution of Pakistan.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the National Youth Summit Gwadar, Bugti stated that youth are the future of the country and constructive criticism should be encouraged instead of baseless criticism. He assured that the government would restore the confidence of young people by addressing their concerns and grievances.

The chief minister highlighted that good governance, merit, and transparency are essential for eliminating terrorism and ensuring sustainable peace. He said his purpose at the event was to listen directly to the youth rather than deliver long speeches, and he encouraged participants to express their views openly.

During a 45-minute interactive session, students raised questions about merit, employment opportunities, and development projects. Bugti reaffirmed that all recruitments in the province are being made strictly on merit and that corruption or irregularities will not be tolerated. He noted that action had been taken against officials involved in irregularities in the education department in Turbat and emphasized transparency in institutions, including the Balochistan Constabulary.

He also stressed the importance of financial discipline, citing efforts to eliminate unnecessary expenditures and ensure transparent use of government resources.

Discussing the role of social media, Bugti said some elements are attempting to mislead youth, but the government is working on awareness initiatives to guide them in a positive direction.

On education, he said practical steps have been taken to activate institutions across the province, highlighting Gwadar as a model district where all government schools are operational.

The chief minister reiterated his commitment to providing youth with merit-based opportunities, transparency, and equal access, pledging to utilize all available resources to achieve these goals.
