French President Macron Calls PM Shehbaz, Praises Pakistan’s Mediation Efforts
Islamabad: French President Emmanuel Macron telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to congratulate him on Pakistan’s mediation efforts in securing a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and bringing parties to the negotiating table.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, President Macron commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and expressed best wishes for the success of upcoming peace talks expected to be held in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the French president for supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
Both leaders also expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in Lebanon and stressed the urgent need to end hostilities and bloodshed to restore peace in the region.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact to support continued diplomatic efforts for lasting stability.
