Traders Reject Early Opening, 8 PM Closing Policy in Lahore

LAHORE: Traders in Lahore have rejected the government’s decision to open shops early in the morning and close them by 8 PM, leaving many of the city’s major markets closed during the morning hours.
Meanwhile, in cities across “,”Pakistan”], including Peshawar, markets opened as scheduled, while in Quetta a mixed response was observed. Some traders followed the new policy, whereas others demanded a revised schedule.
The decision, announced yesterday, mandates that markets in Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa open at 10 AM and close at 8 PM. Traders in Lahore have expressed concerns that the timing could negatively impact business and customer footfall, prompting calls for reconsideration of the schedule.
