Sindh Government Launches Free Electric Motorcycle Scheme for Women Workers

Karachi: The Government of Sindh has officially launched a program under the Workers Welfare Board to provide 10,000 free electric motorcycles to women. This initiative aims to offer women safe, dignified, and independent travel options.

Sindh’s Minister for Labor, Shahid Theem, emphasized that women constitute half of the country’s population, and their development is crucial for national progress. The primary goal of the program is not just to provide convenience, but also to empower women.

The registration process for obtaining an electric motorcycle has already begun. Interested women can submit their applications via the official website of the Workers Welfare Board at [https://emotorcycle.wwbs.gos.pk/](https://emotorcycle.wwbs.gos.pk/).

According to the Minister, the lottery for the motorcycles will be conducted through a fully digital system to eliminate any human interference. Eligible women for this program are industrial female workers aged between 20 to 45 years. A 20% quota has been reserved for minorities. Additionally, applicants will be given 60 days to obtain a driving license.
