CM Balochistan Promises Action on Khuzdar Marble City Funds, Emphasizes Respectable Employment for Youth

Quetta: Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, has stated that any proven mismanagement or loss of funds in the Khuzdar Marble City project will be investigated by the Public Accounts Committee, and responsible officials will be held accountable. He highlighted that the government aims to guide youth away from illegal trade (locally referred to as “Zambad”) toward dignified and lawful employment opportunities.

Addressing the Balochistan Assembly during a question hour session, CM Bugti noted that the Marble City initiative was a positive idea of the previous government. The first phase involved land acquisition, followed by planned private-sector factories. While expenditure was recorded on paper, implementation lagged, raising concerns that will be addressed through committee investigations.

Responding to questions about the Enterprise Development Program via BRSP, he explained that the project is designed to provide training, business support, and five years of monitoring for youth from border areas near Iran, promoting legal trade instead of illegal activities. He emphasized that the delay in execution is due to the meticulous planning involved.

CM Bugti also highlighted ongoing collaboration with the opposition regarding the Mines & Minerals Bill and thanked them for input while noting some delays. Additionally, Provincial Minister for Finance and Minerals, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, presented draft legislation for the 2026 Balochistan Mines & Safety Act and the 2026 Witness Protection Amendment Bill, which were referred to relevant standing committees for review.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency in development projects and creating sustainable, respectable employment opportunities for the youth of Balochistan.
