Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Protests Fuel Price Hike, Demands Disaster Status for Qila Saifullah

Qila Saifullah: A large protest rally organized by the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party was held in Qila Saifullah against the recent increase in petroleum prices, with participants strongly condemning what they described as “unjust and anti-people” policies.

The demonstration, led by Syed Akbar Khan Kakar, drew a significant number of party workers, leaders, and citizens from مختلف walks of life, reflecting widespread public anger over rising inflation. Protesters voiced concerns that soaring fuel prices have made basic living increasingly unaffordable, with speakers stating that “the poor are struggling for two meals a day while rulers remain absorbed in luxuries.”

Addressing the gathering, party leaders including Shams Rodwal, Samiullah Samsor, and Samiullah Kakar criticized the government’s economic management, claiming that flawed policies have pushed the country toward economic instability and deepened public hardship.

The speakers also highlighted the impact of recent heavy rains and hailstorms in the district, which they said caused massive losses to farmers and agricultural lands. They accused both provincial and federal authorities of negligence and inaction.

The party demanded that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and the National Disaster Management Authority immediately conduct a comprehensive damage assessment. They also called for Qila Saifullah to be officially declared a disaster-hit area and for urgent relief measures to support affected communities.

Additionally, concerns were raised over the deteriorating electricity infrastructure and repeated theft of power lines and poles, which have further compounded the difficulties faced by local residents.
