Light Rain Turns Karachi Roads into Waterlogged Pits, Citizens Face Severe Inconvenience

Islamabad – Following light rainfall, several major roads in Karachi have turned into waterlogged pits, causing severe disruption and mental distress for commuters.
According to reports by ARY News, the situation is particularly dire in the Korangi industrial area, where drains and nullahs have overflowed. The main road from Nasir Jump to Chumra Chowrangi has become flooded, resembling a small lake, with rainwater and sewage standing on the roadway.
The stagnant water has significantly affected traffic flow, forcing citizens to navigate through filthy, contaminated water. The ongoing poor condition of the city’s sewage system, exacerbated since the previous rainfall, has worsened the situation.
Commuters traveling to industrial areas for work are facing immense difficulties. Public transport, including the Peoples Bus Service on this route, has been suspended for several days due to the flooding.
Local residents have criticized the city administration for the lack of response, noting that cleaning machinery and management personnel remain absent despite the worsening conditions. Citizens are calling for urgent action to restore roads and address the overflowing sewage to prevent further hardship.
