Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Harassment by Hanna Police, Threatens Protest Over Illegal FIR

Quetta – The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) has strongly condemned the ongoing harassment of residents by Hanna Police Station, warning that they will be forced to stage a protest if an allegedly illegal FIR is not withdrawn.
In a statement issued by the PMAP’s Tehsil President in Quetta, the party criticized Hanna Police for repeatedly targeting residents of Sara Ghurghai Gorkay without legal justification, taking them from their homes, and pressuring them under the pretext of Quetta Development Authority (QDA) regulations.
The statement highlighted a recent incident in which PMAP provincial labor secretary Habib-ur-Rehman Bazai visited the police station to inform authorities about citizens’ complaints. Instead of addressing the grievances, the police registered a case against the party leader. The statement also specifically accused police officer Zarif of misconduct and unprofessional behavior, which the party condemned.
PMAP emphasized that the primary role of police is to provide justice and address citizens’ complaints, not to humiliate or intimidate them. The party expressed concern over the unprofessional and disrespectful conduct of some police officers, calling it a violation of fundamental rights and a serious blow to the credibility of law enforcement agencies.
The statement warned that citizens approach police stations seeking justice and protection, but mistreatment, threats, and harassment erode public trust and fuel unrest in society.
The party demanded immediate action against the Hanna police administration and the mentioned officer, the withdrawal of the allegedly illegal FIR, and a halt to further harassment of citizens. PMAP warned that failure to address these issues would compel them to organize a protest in front of Hanna Police Station.
