UP CM Yogi Adityanath Sparks Controversy with Anti-Muslim Remarks

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has drawn criticism for making inflammatory remarks targeting Muslims. During a speech in Assam, he claimed that his government aims to remove Muslims from the state.
Yogi Adityanath stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party could cleanse Assam of “Muslim infiltrators” and that every Muslim would be identified and removed.
The UP chief minister further asserted that no one in Uttar Pradesh would be allowed to offer prayers on streets or use loudspeakers from religious places of worship.
His comments have sparked widespread condemnation from civil society groups, opposition parties, and rights organizations, who warn that such rhetoric could inflame communal tensions.
