Balochistan Govt Introduces New Timings for Markets, Wedding Halls, and Restaurants to Save Energy

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has officially launched the implementation of key measures aimed at conserving energy and protecting the public from the impact of rising inflation.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Following the directives, the Home Department has issued a notification revising operating hours for markets, wedding halls, and restaurants across the province.

According to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqaat, all markets and shopping centers will now close by 8:00 PM. However, pharmacies, tandoors, and bakeries have been exempted from these restrictions.

Wedding halls, banquet halls, and hotel events must conclude by 10:00 PM, while restaurants are also required to close at the same time.

District administrations and law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the new timings. Authorities warned that violations will result in action under relevant laws.

The Home Department has further instructed all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and police officials to implement these orders immediately and ensure that stakeholders are informed.

The provincial government has also urged the public to cooperate with these measures, stressing that collective efforts are essential to tackle the energy crisis and provide effective relief to citizens
