According to the luxury watch resale platform Bazel, **33% of total sales are made to individuals under 30**, who have emerged as the group spending the most on single watches. Experts attribute this trend to Generation Z’s upbringing in a fully digital environment, which fuels a desire for tangible, durable items. Dahien Lee notes that many young buyers seek watches reminiscent of those worn by their grandparents, connecting them to a past they never experienced.

The traditional gender distinctions in watch design are also fading. Evan Fry notes that he began wearing smaller, delicate watches after seeing actor Timothée Chalamet sporting a Cartier Panther at high-profile events. Similarly, luxury watch trends often spike after celebrities wear feminine designs at award shows.

For many in this generation, watches are now more about style than functionality. Some even purchase non-working watches purely as **bracelets or fashion accessories**, with younger buyers openly admitting, “We don’t even know how to read a traditional watch.”
