Bilawal–Fazlur Rehman Meeting Signals Possible Political Alliance Ahead of AJK and GB Elections

Islamabad — A key political meeting between Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stirred significant political activity, particularly in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, as details of their discussions emerge.
According to sources, the meeting took place at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, where both leaders held extensive discussions on upcoming electoral strategies. The presence of Chaudhry Yaseen highlighted the importance of deliberations related to Azad Kashmir’s forthcoming elections.
In addition to the formal meeting, the two leaders also held a one-on-one session, focusing on key political strategies for the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. Sources indicate that several critical political options were discussed during this private consultation.

A central point of the meeting was the possibility of an electoral alliance between the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). Both sides reportedly showed serious intent to move forward together in future political contests.
To formalize this cooperation, it was decided to establish a joint committee that will work on seat adjustments and finalize the framework of the potential alliance.
Political analysts are viewing the meeting as a significant “power play” that could reshape alliances and influence the political landscape in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of upcoming elections.
